The John Wesley Powell River History Museum communicates the historic value of the Green and Colorado rivers as national treasures by collecting and exhibiting information and artifacts for public enjoyment.

John Wesley Powell River History Museum

Relive the exciting journey of this early explorer. Artifacts, models, and working displays, plus full size replicas of actual boats used, give an appreciation of the rigors of life on the river. Also, displays of pre-history, a large auditorium, gallery room and river runner "Hall of Fame." The gift shop has wide variety with the Colorado Plateau in mind.

The premiere museum of the history of the Green and Colorado Rivers, in the Western United States.  The focus of the museum is John Wesley Powell and his crew's exploration, mapping and surveying the last unknown area of the United States, in 1869, and in 1871-72.
